The New Patient Experience

What to Expect as a New Patient:

Getting your blood pressure taken, full series of radiographs, full series of digital pictures, meeting the doctor, tmj and oral screening exam, having a prophylaxis with the hygienist (in the absence of gum disease)

Full Series of Radiographs:

Dental radiographs, or X-rays, are an important part of a thorough dental examination. A full set of X-rays (18) is usually required for patients who are new to a dental practice. Two to four follow-up or check-up X-rays called "bite-wings" are necessary every 6 months depending on each individual patient’s needs. Digital x-rays give off 90% less radiation than traditional x-rays.

Full Series of Digital Pictures:

This technology is very important for diagnosis, patient education, case presentation, and virtual documentation.

TMJ, Cancer, and Oral Screening Exam:

Consultation

Dr. Ganji thoroughly checks all areas of the head, neck, face, teeth and oral cavity to come up with a complete plan to oral health! The oral cancer screening—head and neck exam—is one of the most critical components of a routine dental hygiene and dental exam. Dental hygienists and dentists can alert patients to suspicious growths and changes, noted during head and neck exams, and urge them to seek medical care.

Hygiene Prophylaxis: (in the absence of gum disease)

A thorough cleaning to get you back on track to ideal gum health. Professional cleaning removes plaque, calculus (tartar), and stains from the teeth. The cleaning may be done by your dentist or a dental hygienist, a licensed professional who performs prophylaxis (professional cleaning) in the dental office and provides education in proper care of the teeth and gums. We use the top of the line ultrasonic cleaning device.
